Wow, it's been a while since I've blogged.. woops! Oh well, I'm back!
The last time I posted, I was in Louisiana,
not finished school and anxiously awaiting the day I'd be off to San Francisco for the summer! Well that flew by, and I've already been in San Fran for almost two weeks! I want to update you on everything that I've been doing since I got here but not sure if that's possible.. I'll try my best!
I arrived in SF the day after my brother's HS graduation. It was a Sunday night, and the first thing I noticed was the COLD! Of course coming from LA I had on shorts and a short sleeved shirt. Everyone warned me that it would be cold here, but most people said oh you'll be fine during the day and will need a sweater at night. WRONG! I should have brought all of my winter clothing bc it's colder than our LA winters and it's summer. Ha
The first night, the family I'm staying with took me to see the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge! It was so beautiful but it was almost dark when I got to the bridge so I didn't get a good pic!
My first week was non-stop! I started my internship the morning after I got here and was just kinda thrown into everything. I loved it. I met a million people the first day and the girls in the office took me out to lunch to this little Mexican Restaurant called Green Chile Kitchen (and I've been back twice since then haha it seems to be a favorite spot of everyone's) The first day I got a taco salad, the 2nd time I got a burrito in a bowl, and when we went back again today, I got another salad w/ grilled chicken, black beans, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers & jicama (which I'd never had before but really liked the taste!)
The first night we went for drinks and appetizers with a potential donor. My first "work outing" Could definitely get used to that! The second night, we went to an alum party and dinner near Union Square (left) The place - Le Colonial - was so cute. They had a live band and everyone was swing dancing! We got appetizers and drinks again and I tried brussels sprouts for the 1st time and loved them!
I've done a lot of sightseeing so far! The Wharf, The Marina, The Golden Gate Bridge, The Presidio, the bay, Alcatraz, just to name a few spots..
Thursday we went out to sushi for a girls night! I tried raw sushi and actually liked it this time! They had dessert sushi made of ice cream & cookie dough.. I had to splurge a little on this ;)
Our sushi place was off of Union Street -- down the street from Lululemon! I was so excited and can't wait to go back and shop! So this was pretty much my first week - crazy busy (promise I actually worked everyday!) and I'm sure I'm forgetting so much but I got to see a lot of San Francisco. I'm already in love with this city!
